As I mentioned in an earlier post, I was enduring long boots with my newly built system ASUS A7V133/1.0 GHz T-Bird/ASUS 7100 32MB Pure/Creative SB Live Platinum 5.1/Creative MB modem/SMC 10/100 NIC.
Anyways, I caught word on another forum (or maybe here not sure) that if your are not currently using your NIC it is better to diable in the DM. I did so... I also "rem"'d a line in my autexec.bat referring to some software I had uninstalled (HEAT-I'm not an on-line gamer). I dropped a whole 2 (yes 2) minutes off the boot time with no problems.
