newbie....help

hello! i have a problem with my system....out of the sudden a message pops up saying...."a network cable is unplugged" and goes back down again and the connection is still working normally but the msg keeps coming like every hour or so; i dunno why this is happening....i have a d-link router di-524....i disconnected it for like 2 weeks and when i brought it back and connected it then this issue came up...before none of this used to happen....if anybody can help me...please and thanks

I would start by replacing the patch cable, followed by trying a different router port if that step does not improve the symptoms.

Also try resetting the router by unplugging it for a few seconds. Sometimes they just need reset once in awhile.
