it is a amd 3500 64 bit venice 939 board asus 8ne pci express
1 gig of corsair pro memory
250 gig sata drive
winfast 7800gt pci express graphics
when i play cod 2 on computer after about an hour the colours change from green to blue red etc
then it freezes up and crashes
it plays cod and cod uo with full settings and no problems
please help as im going mad with this problem
also i installed a adsl modem usb
and it keeps losing its drivers so i reboot then it comes up with insert boot disk
as it cant find the sata drive
if i swap the sata drive from sata master port 1 to sata master port 2 it will fire up without a problem
and i can then put the sata disk back into master 1 port
thanks for your help

Reduce the cod 2 settings. If that works, then the video card may be overheating. Make sure its fan is running at the correct speed, and its heatsink is securely mounted.
If those are ok, then remove the computer's cover, and run an external fan blowing on the video card. If that works, then your system needs either more powerful or additional case fans.

WRT the SATA problem, the SATA 1 port may be bad.

Drivers. Check all the drivers. And DirectX. Make sure all of that is up-to-date. Could also be a BIOS problem, but try the drivers first.

What are the BIOS voltage readings?
Also, remove the computer's cover and run an external fan on the video card.

I had almost the same problem, 'cept once the level loaded, the comp crashed. I believe it was the graphics card sucking too much juice from the puny PSU in my old eMachines. The voltages at IDLE were nothing short of pathetic
