LG DVD-ROM tray not opening !!

Hi

I have a LG Dvd-rom drive on my computer. I have big time issue in ejecting the drive when there is no CD in the drive. When i press the eject button on the drive i see the light glowing on the drive and hear some sound and have a feeling as if the drive wants to come out but someone is trying to stop it from inside.I tried ejecting tru the OS as well , still no go. But on the other hand if there is a media inside the drive it comes out normally.What could be the problem ??

must be some sort of physical/mechanical problem with the drive. you could try opening the drive by removing the metal casing, hook it up and see if you can notice anything damaged. maybe you can remedy it, maybe not. this will void the warranty as well...
