Okay, after a bit more reading, I'm thinking about purchasing the ASUS A7V133 with a 1 gig Athlon and overclocking it to 1.133 GHz. I'm confused however about the FSB. The TweakTown review of the board states it can be used with the 1.0 - 1.3 GHz Athlons @ 266 MHz FSB, yet the board comes with a 133 MHz chip set. Howzisswurk???? AMD recommends the Asus A7M266 mb (among others) for their 266 CPUs. Haven't found any articles on the A7M266, opinions? TweakTown states "The only major quarrel (with the A7V133) was once again the inclusion of an AMR slot over the more widely used ISA slot." If someone can enlighten me on the implications of this lamentable (I guess) state of affairs, I'd appreciate it ;-)

Also, the review referred to above also used this board with a 1 GHz Athlon clocked at 1133, with results by all indications smokin' aplenty. Any *real* advantage to going with the a 266 fsb/1330, or perhaps the 200fsb 1300? Seems like at some point you're better off getting more ram (no?)

Thanks!

Dan

The answer is Double Data Rate (DDR) technology. There's lot of tech discussions about it, e.g., http://hardocp.com/articles/amd/200bus.html

Dan as one of the Less than happy owners of the A7V133
I can tell you that the AMR slot is a Waste of space.

I don't have any AMR cards.
In Fact I have NEVER even seen one with my own eyes.
Or even a review of a one.
I do however have a USR V Everything modem that I can Not install on the A7V http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gif

Who's idea was it to include the AMR slots anyways ? ( Micro$oft + Intel ) ??

Also The on board audio and second USB is of little use. At least to me.
