This computer has XP PRO w/ SP2 The main computer connected to the router and printer has XP Home w/SP2
OK. I've done this before and it worked perfectly. I print from one computer to the other computer where the
printer is. But now and I dont know why it doesnt work anymore, the main computer, the one with the printer perfectly sees this computer on micrsoft windows network, you can map drives etc. But on this computer now it says I dont have access permissions to see the main computer and I cant add the printer over the network. I've already shut off windows firewall, norton, enabled Printer and File Sharing in windows and everything...
Please help?

Aloha fission and welcome to http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif
Did this network printing ever work on this particulare network? Have you added any new programs? Have you gone into the properties of this printer on the computer it is connected to and enabled sharing? Is it turned on? Can you print from the computer it is attached to?
Just a few questions to start with ;) Let us know and we can go from there.

Thanks for bringing this to your attention, I appreciate it.
Yes it has worked before. Havent added any new programs at all, printer is connected and on and has sharing enabled, and I can print perfectly from the computer that the printer is attached to.

On the computer that you are having the print problem on (XP Pro), click on Start>Printers and Faxes. Do you see your network printer there? If so, can you delete it? Can you access the internet through the network? You mentioned turning off Microsoft firewall and Norton, have you done this on both comps? I would recommend not running two firewalls at the same time (A hardware firewall at your router and a software firewall on each comp is fine). I would also recommend not running anything Norton. You might want to read through some of the security threads and better understand the virtues of some of the other firewall products out there. My personal favorite is AVG Free (http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1).
It is odd that a functioning network would just loose permissions but it does happen. After you answer the above questions we can proceed further. It may turn out that we need to scrap the existing network and set it up new (not hardware, just settings) but lets get some more answers first ;)

No, no printer is there, but when I try to add one it shows the other computers name and all but the printer wont display. Right now, I'm on the computer w/ XP PRO. So the interent does work. Also, I did shut off both the worm protection and windows firewall on both computers.

It just sounds like something is not set up right. I'll bet the answer you're looking for is here:

ok, let's say computer1 is the one with the printer
and computer2 is the remote computer you want to print from
sit down at computer2 and type computer1's actual computer name in this form: //computername. type it in an explorer box. everything that is shared on the other computer should show up. click on printers, is your printer there? If so, drag and drop it into your remote computer's printer control panel. This will automatically install the printer and hopefully, may fix your problem. Be sure to delete the old printer.

I would try jcnoernberg's method but it works better this way from the Run command box:
\\computername

Is the printers software installed on computer2?
What make and model of printer is it?
You may want to run the home network setup wizard in control panel on comp2 to get the rest of the network working before you try using the printer.
Have you installed any Windows updates recently?
There was an update a few months ago that caused the same problem on my network as you describe.
The update changed the version of Winsock on the computer that received the update and that computer could not browse the network, or connect to the Internet.
The Home Network Wizard fixed my problem.
