Okay, I did a no, no. I transferred my administrative files to second computer. DSL files that is. In the process I took away control of DSL administrative commands from my first computer. Anyway while working on the first computer on line I accident shut down the task manager on the second PC . I need to know if I can remove the memory battery to correct not being able to enter the computer problem. I just need to get in it without administrative password.

Not sure if I understand what you're saying.
On the assumption that you are unable to complete the loading of an NT based OS because you've lost the password...
The free bootable "Emergency Boot CD" [EBCD] below includes a Linux-based "NT Password Editor" that allows you to set a new [administrative or user] password without knowing the old one.

This makes it easier to boot a chosen drive [particularly the one holding the EBCD].

This has a number of useful utilities included including "Image" [for DOS, by Terabyte] & "File Manager".

Sylvander, Thanks for the Info. The PC beginner sounds like a good boot up CD. I missed the sale, but I bet it goes on sale again soon. It's only about 120 miles from where I live. Must be a student who developed it. I appreciate your advice. Sometimes I have a hard time explaining things. Please fill free to contact me any time. My other problem was answered for me by sbc. When I go to print on my first computer on the net if I click preference it knocks me off the net. They said conflicting drivers between the printer drivers and browser drivers, because they're close to being the same. Hope they're right. larry
