little or no internet on network

i have a wired LAN setup with a DSL connection. for the past year, everything was ok until it died. out of the blue, i got disconnected. i use a hub to share my DSL connection over a small 4pc network.

my internet is ok when i have 1 pc connected to the net. but when i connect the pc to the network, i lose connectivity.. one thing though, for example, if i do get to connect to irc or i get to start a download, i still get the same speeds.

if 2 pcs are trying to access the internet, all i get is finding site:____

but if i open and close iexplorer a few times, i sometimes get to connect but for a short time.

again, as soon as i DC from the network, everythings ok..

i tried sharing over the hub and through 1 pc as the server. i also tried changing wire/lancars/hub.. still same problem.

Well to use a hub to share an internet connection you will need to have one PC setup as a server and be running ICS. This is messy and never really works perfectly. Your best bet would to just go out an buy a wired router and replace the hub with it. This will take care of all the internet sharing between the PCs by giving them all private IP address and allowing them all to communicate with the outside world using the one IP assigned by your ISP.
