This is going to sound silly. I am trying to install a web cam that plugs into my USB port. Sounds simple, except that I've had this cam since I was in Iraq and never needed to load the program to the computer I was using then (as all soldiers in my unit had the same web cam). Now I am stuck without the necessary CD/disk and have no idea what the techinical name is for this camera. Is there any way to get it to work with my computer or am I going to have to buy a new one? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Take care!

Well, we need to know the name/model on the camera to point you in the right direction.

This is my problem. I bought the camera when I was in Iraq (Lord only knows where the Iraqi vendor got all of these cameras from). I have no idea what kind it is. The only marking on the camera are: GEN X (on top) and Web cam P41M0658 (on the back). Should I just toss it and buy a new one or is there hope??? Thanks.

I'm in the UK...
Did a search...found a UK company in Manchester named "Gen-X it Ltd" who supply IT products wholesale...phoned them...asked if they had ever supplied webcams...he said no, they didn't do that. :(
So scratch them from any list.

:D Thank you so much for the effort. I suppose I will have to toss this cam and buy a new one. Again, I appreciate the time that you took to help me.
