Hi,
Can anyone help with this issue please. Having built a new PC with a DFI LAnParty SLI-DR mobo, and inserting 2xSparkle 7800GT graphics cards, I am unable to tell the nvidia software to use SLI.
The message on the SLI GPU properties says I need to remove all none SLI compatible graphics cards before SLI can be configured.
Both cards are exactly the same, I have installed the same drivers on both, the SLI Bridge has been put between the cards, and each has been given seperate power supplies, as per the instructions.
Any ideas?
Cheers
Shaun

Did you flip the SLI card, or is that DFI mobo still using the jumpers? Also, check the BIOS to see if that mobo has any SLI settings. Do you have the latest NVidia driver?

Sorry don't understand, "flip the SLI card". But the DFI mobo no longer has jumpers, only setting in BIOS is to change PCIe from 2-1-1-16 to 8-4-nc-8, this mean anything to you?
The latest NVIDIA drivers are loaded....

I have the DFI SLi-D(99% similar) and it does indeed use jumpers. Look at this pic (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowImage.asp?image=13-136-158-01.jpg,13-136-158-02.jpg,13-136-158-03.jpg,13-136-158-04.jpg,13-136-158-05.jpg&CurImage=13-136-158-02.jpg&Description=DFI%20LP%20UT%20nF4%20SLI-D%20Socket%20939%20NVIDIA%20nForce4%20SLI%20ATX%20 AMD%20Motherboard%20-%20Retail), the jumpers are right in between the 2 long PCI-E lanes(6 of them). Use the tool provided and move the jumpers according to the manual to set up SLi.

All well and good, but I have a DFI SLI-DR Expert, which does not have these jumpers on the mobo.

Ah I see, so they changed the design. My mistake, sorry.http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/smile.gif

No worries ;). The only thing in the BIOS is as stated above, but also another setting to enable Dual 6600GT support. Tried with this on also, to no avail. Anything else I may have missed?

Et Voila!!! I'm SLI enabled! Bloody hell what a half-arsed way of doing things. Had to set 8-4-NC-8 in BIOS, and re-install Windows!
Anyway, at least its working I suppose :D

You had to reinstall Windows? Good god! That's horrible!
So it's working in SLI now?

Yeah, it's all fine and dandy. Strange that Windows/NVidia couldn't figure out that they are the same cards.
I'm looking to test SLI now, how can I do this please? 3dmark05/06 will only run on 32 bit systems, know of any other ways of testing please?

Play a game! Benchmark it against what you were getting before.
I just recently wrote a guide on how to enable SLI on the DFI Expert. If anyone is still having problems you can find it here (http://benchaddix.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=954&hl=).
