My sys is a dell xps600t w/ bx chip set, 600pent3, win98se.
I have a voodoo 3 3000 16 meg.
I want as better card from a company who is still in business but i am not sure of voltage differences on new cards and mobos. I think the new cards are 1.5v and mine is 3v? I have also heard something about being able to switch voltages on new cards. Any help is very appriecated. thanx

You can buy most ANY video card on the market and it will work on your machine without any problems .....as long as you properly remove the old card's drivers and install the new ones.....Dont worry about voltages with your cpu and motherboard combo that is not an issue.

Along those lines, can anyone recommend a few all around good video cards? Something not extremely expensive...say in the $100-150 range?
Thanks to all here for previous advice on other issues.

Here is a good place to get pretty unbiased info on vid cards....you really cant go wrong with NVidia, ATI or Voodoo cards. http://computershopper.zdnet.com/texis/cs/topsellerscategory.html?catid=29&cobrand=29
Good Luck!

Another dumb question...will a 2X or 4X AGP video card work ok in a AGP slot or are there 2X, 4X AGP slots on later mobo's?

ANY AGP card will fit into the AGP slot in your motherboard; however, the 3X & 4X features on the vid card WONT work unless your motherboard bios supports it.....you can find out whether it does or not at the Dell website : http://support.dell.com/us/en/filelib/index.asp
