I just arrived yesterday to LA from the Phillipines . hooray !!

any tips what to keep in mind? :D :D

Stay off of Hollywood Blvd ;)
If you get over to the Disneyland area, they have a public, open air mall. In there is a restaurant named "Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen". A bit pricy but FANTASTIC food.

I remember you talking about coming to Cal some time back, but I can't remember what you were doing here. If you get a chance to get up to the San Francisco area be sure to let me know.

LA...welcome to traffic central! :D Pick your travelling times right while there, or you'll wind up spending most of your time viewing the bumper of the car in front of you! :D

Growing up in the 50s and 60s, with all the "beach" movies, I thought that the cost of California was just one huge beach... When we went from LA to San Diego on the costal highway you were lucky to see the beach. And, it was a roller coaster up and down into and out of valleys... An educational experience for me...Ah then, simple minds are amused by simple things... :D

I didnt have nice ride. my brother and I was seated at the back of the plane. Very bumpy. Lots of turbulence.

im enjoying it here though. the weather is always cold even at noon.

Wait till summer! Although the humidity isn't as bad in California it gets just as hot as it does in the Phillipines.

I spent a year and a half in the Phillipines in the early eighties when I was in the US Marine Corps.
