Does anyone know how to determine what is the max speed processor the motherboard will accept? I have an FIC PA-2011. The manual lists up to 233mHz for AMD but does not say that is the max (it was the fastest processor available at the time of purchase).

I'll step out on a limb and say you have a Socket 7 mainboard. The combination of Bus Speed, Multiplier settings & Core Voltage settings available will tell you what you can put on that board. For example, if your motherboard will support a 100 mhz FSB & a 5.5 multiplier and a 2.2 or 2.3 core voltage......then you could go all the way up to an AMD K62-550 mhz chip!
Here is a good source to see what Socket 7 mainboards will need to have to handle various CPU's: http://www6.tomshardware.com/howto/00q2/000412/index-03.html
The greatest problem you might have is FINDING the older chips ...many are not produced any longer.
