movie pass

I'm having some problems on my wife's laptop. Somehow a program called moviepass was downloaded onto her computer. I can't find it anywhere and I don't know how to get rid of it, but it pops up one it's own when the internet is acessed. It's an annoyance that I want to get rid of, but don't know how to. It's saying that the three day subsription has expired, though neither of us know how it was downloaded in the first place. The only way to get rid of the pop up window that blocks other windows is by using the task manager. I do have a hijack this file saved if anyone needs it as I would like this removed from the computer. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Actually, I just found a fix to it by doing a little more reseach. It's not under the name that I posted it as, but this could help other people with the problem as I did find the fsupport file. Here is the link if anyone else has problems with this. Again, it is listed as movie land and not movie pass, but I was still able to find the file.

Just another heads up for everyone, you might have to reset your computer, then again there might be something else there, but the pop up did come back later before I reset the computer. Since then nothing has happened, but if it does then I'll be right back here and post a HJT log. Thanks.

Ok, never mind. No sooner do I post this then my wife writes me to tell me that it's still popping up. I'm assuming the file has recreated itself again so there's something more there which is no good. I'll be sending a HJT file tonight when I get home.

Please download, install, and update the NEW free version of Ewido trojan scanner (http://www.ewido.net/en/download/):


When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".

When you run Ewido for the first time, you may get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.

From the main Ewido screen, click on update in the left menu, then click the Start update button.

After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")


Perform a full system scan and fix all that it finds.
