When I built my new rig it was suggested to me to get 1 Gig of 2x512 dual channel. That was 4 months ago. Now I'm thinking that I'd like to get another Gig but I have been told that 1) a 4x512 configuration is not as good as a 2x1GB dual channel set-up. Okay, live and learn. The thing is I can't afford to buy two full gigs.

And 2) I have also been informed that the 4x512 configuration has issues with NF4 mobotherboards, especially when overclocking. Has anyone had this issue?

Certain mobo's using the NForce4/Ultra chipset series do have a problem with 4 double-sided modules. And some don't. If you have your mobo manual, that should give you a hint. You can also Google your mobo model number and check the manufacturer's website (and any potential BIOS updates). This is one of those 50/50 situations, and a real problem for NVidia. I'm hoping their next round of chipsets (NForce5?) won't have this problem.
