In the new Most Wanted, the game is extremely choppy. I was running Fraps, which was reading 30-40 FPS, but it was nearly unplayable. Any ideas? I have messed with refresh rates, graphics settings, everything that I can think of. Any ideas?

Ya, I had this problem as well. First, update it, then put the resolution to 1024x768. I know, it looks bad at that, but for some reason it has problems at higher res.

Hmmm, the wonders of console-based games

I have solved it to a certain extent, apparently having Fraps open was a bad idea:rolleyes: and it is running smoother without it. It is still there a bit, but I am happier now because it is playable. Vsync made an enormous difference, and that will stay on. I am also amazed that my computer can play the game at 1280x1024 at full graphics...it looks pretty dern good ;)

Yes, It is also possible that when EA ported the game to the PC, they forgot to take out the 30-40ish FPS limit that they placed on the console versions.

Interesting...
Basically, because of the FPS limit, my computer is TOO good to play the game properly...
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Well actally, Vsync just limits the FPS to whatever your refresh rate is. It prevents "visual tearing".

I don't have any problems with having FPS over the refresh rate. I get 200FPS in CS:S, and no complainmts lol :D

I'll have a pic up tomorrow, hopefully. On that note, what is the highest res you can post on this forum? I must know...
