here is the card (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1782292&CatId=933)

ok i think this
PNY GeForce 6800 GS / 256MB GDDR3 / AGP 8x / DVI / VGA / TV Out / Video Card will work good for me if not great, people say it runs oblivion GREAT which is why im upgrading so hearing that was a big plus so if you could give me some feedback on this card id like that :)

my quesion is, ive seen computers running with 2 video cards in them can i keep my raedon9200 running with my new card or do they have to be the same card?

one more thing some cards if not all newer cards have to 2 DVI slots in them for hooking up 2 monitors well what that hell is that point in that?? why would you want 2 monitors displaying they exact same thing? pointless in my opinion.

Yeah, the 6800 GS is a good buy. AGP is waning as time goes on, so buy now! Plus, it looks like a really good deal.

As long as your Radeon 9200 isn't AGP, then yes, you could have them both running at the same time. You would then just have to tell the games which vid card to use, which isn't all that difficult but it can be annoying on some games.

The point of two monitors is to have one expansive desktop that is sprawled across two screens. This gives you more screen space to work with as you can have twice as many windows open at once (if the monitors are the same size/res). Some games will even play across two monitors, but this is rare. Otherwise games will default to the "main" monitor and the other one will remain as a desktop while you play. Multi-monitor set-ups have long been used on large workstations to increase productivity. Most home users only ever see two monitors at once, but some corporations have 3 or more monitors connected to the same system/server.

That card should be a significant upgrade but is your power supply up to the task of providing enough power for it plus 2 hard drives and 2 CD drives?

You can not use both cards at the same time because you only have 1 AGP slot on your motherboard and both cards would need to be in that 1 slot.

If you had a PCI (not PCI-E) video card you could use it at the same time with an AGP card, but the reason for doing that is to use 2 monitors at the same time. You would not need to do that because the new card is capable of using duel monitors.

Another reason for 2 video cards is an SLI or Crossfire system that will use the 2 graphics processing units to render an image on 1 monitor each GPU will render half of the image which takes half as long as it would for 1 GPU to render the whole image. For SLI or Crossfire both video cards must be PCI-E and your motherboard must have 2 PCI-E X16 slots and your motherboard doesn't have any.

When using duel monitors both monitors don't display the same image.

The second monitor will be an extension of the desktop on the primary monitor, you can drag windows from one monitor to the other. You can have different programs open on each monitor or parts of the same program such as in Paint Shop Pro you can have an image open on one monitor and the tool pallet, color pallet, and the image map open on the other monitor.

Judging by you old threads, you willl need a new PSU with that graphics card. Something like this ENERMAX EG425P-VE SFMA 2.0 ATX12V 420W Power Supply (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817103459) would work well. . .
