The SX1030 (http://www.directron.com/sx1030.html) server case front panel does not look convenient for CD drives, if it handles them at all. The SX830 is very roomy and has good fan setups. Here is a review (http://www.neoseeker.com/Articles/Hardware/Reviews/antecsx830/) on it; wouldn't mind having one myself.

I'm sorry guys... That was a pretty crummy post, wudn'it? No links. Not much commentary either. Sorry about that. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

I decided to go with the Antec SX830.
http://www.antec-inc.com/product/cases/wkstion.htm

I found it a BB for $99.00 and only $0.99 for delivery. Not bad, I figure. The reason I went for the 300 watt version instead of the 400 watter was because I have seen several 'moderate' to 'high end' systems using the PP303X power supply. I exchanged email with one of the guys who builds systems with the same case and configuration and he's never had a problems.

My power consumption won't be that great either. I'll only be using a CD ROM, External CDR, FDD, HDD, and two fans. I don't think there will be much of a problem. Whadda you think?

The reasoning behind the decision against the SX1030/SX1040 was simply because of the door on the front of the case. Gakk! I do a lot of stuff that requires loading and exchanging media. And the thought of one... Opening the door every time I plop a cd or floppy in a drive, or two... removing the door all together is annoying to say the least.

Anyway, thanks for you guidance, my friends. I need all I can get. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

MLAR, Cory

Sounds like a "weiner". http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif BB = Best Buy? $0.99 is for delivery by store truck or UPS? Either way, dirt cheap.
