My old Optiquest 19' CRT just died after 9 years, and I new a new monitor !
I'd love to get one of those nice LCD, but since I'm also a casual gamer, and I,ve been told that LCD are not too great with games (I also made a search on this forum, and it seemed to confirm it)
So, I should probably go with a CRT, then, and I'm thinking about a 21 '.
I'd like to shoot between 300 - 500 $. Can you recommand me the best PC monitors in this range ? Some Sony maybe ??
thank you so much !

Your Optiquest died after 9 years? My 17" died after nine years too.... weird http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/eek.gif

That really depends on what type of LCD monitor you buy. I own an LG Flatron L1730S display with 12ms response time, and have had no problems. No ghosting, nothing. There are even higher-end LCD's that have response times down to 4ms!
I'd like to shoot between 300 - 500
With that kind of a budget, you can get a decent LCD (up to a 20"). Take a look at these:
Sceptre X20g-Naga 20.1" 8ms LCD Flat Panel

Viewsonic VA902B 19" 8ms LCD Flat Panel

Samsung 940B 19" 8ms LCD Flat Panel

EDIT: I just realized those are from the Canadian website... oh well
If you still have your eyes set on a CRT monitor, I'll try to dig up some links as well. I find the biggest problem with CRT monitors is the vast amount of desk room they take up. One of my friends has a 21" CRT monitor and it literraly takes up the whole desk! Imagine how big a 23" would be!!!
Oh, and the VX922 sounds fine. The only thing special about it is the 2ms response time. Like I already stated, anything under 12ms should be plenty good, so this is a little overkill.
