I have a 19in monitor, is it necessary to put a filter on it? If yes, any suggestion for what brands I should get? Which one is the best for blocking radiations? All advices will be appreciated, thanks

I am not sure about the filter but if you open up a monitor you could kill yourself because the anode is like 30,000volts. So I would get a professional to open it up. I dont know about the question though.
Don't filters go on the outside? The best way to protect yourself against the radiation is to go low on intensity and brightness and don't spend all day staring at it. Aren't the flat screen ones lower on radiation?

well, I should be GLOWING, as I spend approx 10 hours a day in front of my 19" monitor. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/eek.gif
but you can go HERE (http://www.computersplusnyc.com/productfind/category.asp?&req=1&setcat=34), and choose what you like.

If the monitor is less than a year or two old, and meets the
UL / CUL / TUV / FCC B / MPRII specifications, and it is at
a reasonable distance from you, and you don't spend 14 hours
seven days a week looking at it, you should not need a filter.
With a filter, you may be tempted to increase the brightness or contrast
to levels that will shorten the life of your monitor. Look at the
nameplate on the back of your monitor or in the User's Guide for the
specifications. The most important ones are TUV and MPRII.
Accessory vendors like Kensington promote filters to make money,
not to keep people safe. In most cases filters are not necessary.

I am using a brand which I'm not sure if u guys ever heard of it,
futura 19in. It's not a flat screen, and I spend lots of time staring at a computer both from work and home(I spend lots of time on internet and play games too). I've been losing hairs on the forehhead throughout the year, I am not sure if it was radiation or lack of sleep, that is why I am thinking of getting a filter, and I need all the advices I can get.
