Im doing research on some video cards and pricing, and I need to know a couple things:
1. EVGA 7600GT high costs $199 after rebate
2. EVGA 7600GT medium costs $164 after rebate
3. XFX 7600GT high osts $159 after rebate
My question is what is the diff in all of these really, and it seems XFX's is a better deal then both so is it a better card or what? Here is the link on newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814150140. is this the best deal?

My experience with XFX (1 graphics card, my current 7800GT) has been mediocre. The RAM is fine and can overclock an easy 100MHz over stock speed, but the GPU starts producing artifacts at less than 10 MHz up! Keep in mind this is WITH A ZALMAN ZF700-CU ON IT, so it can't possibly be a heat-related problem. Go with the more expensive eVGA cards, they're worth it. Which one you choose depends on what speed you want it to run at and whether you will be OC'ing.

Also keep in mind that you can't make a general assumption about all XFX vid cards in terms of OC'ing just based on one sample. This is not statistically sound. You can't count on getting a certain amount of OC'ing overhead with anything. That's what OC'ing is all about: gambling. There are things you can do to increase your chances of OC'ing higher, but there are no guarantees. I've seen many CPU's that should OC much higher, but those particular ones just didn't. It's all about the odds...
All of the 7600 GT's you mention are factory OC'ed at some level. The $159 XFX has a +30MHz core speed, though perhaps the stock RAM speed of 1400MHz. The $164 eVGA has a +20MHz core and +100MHz RAM. The $199 eVGA has the highest of the bunch, with +40MHz core and +160MHz RAM. At these factory OC'ed settings, the $164 eVGA looks to be the best deal for price/performance. You might even be able to OC it up to the $199 version if you're lucky, but again, don't count on it. At this point, it's up to you to decide how much of a factory OC you want to pay for.

That's what OC'ing is all about: gambling. That's true, even hardware review websites make that claim. I'd go with the eVGA personally since their warranty covers overclocking damage as well, only 1 in the industry.http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Really? I thought that was one thing they didn't cover? Great if they do as I have an eVGA card.

Taken from this page (http://www.evga.com/support/lifetime/):
This lifetime warranty is valid for the life of the retail product, so long as the original purchaser owns the product, based upon the following conditions:
Lifetime Warranty is for all retail Graphics Card and Mainboard products ending in the part numbers AX, DX, or FX.
There is no physical damage to the PCB, GPU/chipset, or components.
Basically you can do anything you want to the card except physically destroying it.http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Cool. That's right it is covered.
I know XFX and BFG have a lifetime warranty a well. XFX's warranty is transferable, but only parts are covered for the new owner (still cool though). Not sure about BFG's terms.

It's really a matter of what Saphalline said. How much factory OC are you willing to pay for? Look at the speeds on each card and compare them to the price, then decide which one is best suited to you.
Hehe, I know that may not make it any easier, but you have to decide what's best for you. ;)

If you're undecided and don't need to make an educated guess, just flip some coins! :D

I'd go with EVGA... They are a better brand as far as I know.
