Hello,

I have compaq armada e500. its screws to hold keyboard in place is worn out and I have discarded it as I installed ram. Compaq charges $50 for its screw kit which I feel is more than what I need. any one knows where I can get appropriate screw for cheap? I went to sears hardware and they did not seem to have matching screw.

Thanks.

Hello Mehta,
You might try a small local computer shop. Be sure to have something with you to match up with (another screw, the keyboard...)

They say to eat before you go to the grocery store so you don't buy so much. That doesn't work at the liquor store does it!

Also could try a general hardware store "neighborhood type store" or lumber yard with a store in front..........
They often have a very large selection of small screws
TV or VCR repair shop or any other electronics repair shop might also be an option.........

Good Luck!

PS if you can figure out what the size of the screws are (length/thread/head) I bet you can order a bag of them for almost nothing and have them sent right to your house http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Now if only someone could tell me whats on fire in my house! hahaha (probably my server lmao)
