I am currently in the process of rebuilding my desktop (before I go off to college) and I have run into a dilemma of sorts. The motherboard I am currently using is an Asus K8N4-E Deluxe, and I am shopping around for a new power supply. As of right now I am narrowed it down to two choices, either this http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16817103931, or this http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16817151025. My main issue is whether or not I will have enough power connectors to cover a 7800GT, three hard-drives (one ide, two SATA), two 120mm fans, and two cd/dvd drives. Also, are both of these PS's compatable with my mobo?
One last question, do the SATA drives use a different power connector than drives running IDE?
Thanks for your help.

Either of those PSUs would provide more than enough power for your system. Both are compatible with your motherboard. Both have plenty of connectors.
SATA drives use a different power connector then IDE drives but some SATA drives (Western Digital) will have both SATA and IDE (4 pin Molex) power connectors if the drive has both types use one or the other never both at the same time. The Antec TP II 550 has SATA connectors for 4 drives and the SeaSonic S12-600W has SATA connectors for 6 drives.

If you've got the money, go for the Seasonic. Awesome PSU. One of the top winners in THG's PSU StressTest series. The Antec TPII-550, on the other hand, represents the best of the sub-$100 PSU's. Both are well worth the money, so it's up to you how much you want to spend. If money were no issue, though, I'd pick the Seasonic.

Thanks for the thorough answer, I will probably cough up the extra money and purchase the SeaSonic, since I do not plan on buying another PS for a long time.

Or you can get a Seasonic 500W PSU (http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=271603) from Zipzoomfly and save some bucks. ( It comes with plenty of connectors, you'll never use all of them. And it should provide enough power for your system. ) I also bought this one from Zipzoomfly a few weeks ago. At the time, the price was $111.99 with free shipping. Pretty good deal.
The Seasonic 600W PSU (http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=271604) is also a bit cheaper on Zipzoomfly, also comes with free shipping.
I bought my Thermaltake case and Seasonic PSU from them, and had no problems at all. Just to give you some more choices.

ZZF is often cheaper than Newegg, but Newegg offers a better online experience (especially when comparing product specs) and has an overall stronger rating. Either one is good - much better than 99% of the online vendors out there - but we mostly use Newegg's site around here for the specs and comparisons.

$50.99 difference after the rebate! I would get it from ZZF.

Haha! Yeah, if you're the type to actually do rebates, then that is a better deal. Especially for just one component.
