Anyone remember Descent and it's later versions? Is there any kind of modern day equivalent? Guess I'm bored and need something to do on the PC that's just relaxing.

I used to play Descent quite a bit, unfortunately my Joystick used to pick up RFI, and I'd end up going the wrong way if I wasn't careful!
I don't know of any modern equivalents, but others may be able to help

relaxing!!! Well I remember playing that game and it made me pull my hair out lol!!! It is a great game. My fav it StarCraft....it is about the only spawn game out there that is alot of fun to play with another person in the same household but on separate puters.
I can't play Descent anymore as I have a problem with the photosensitive issue, I can't even play the newer XBox games, within minutes I have severe headaches, nausea...what a drag eh!

I had that game, came with my machine back in 96. Great game, I wished that the CD did not crack cause, I would be playing it right now.

Streets of Sim City, as also a great old game, you dont fly a space vehicle but drive cars. You guys should check it out.

I think I found Descent relaxing because I loved just taking my time and moving around the mines, always ready to shoot. I saved often and if I didn't like the way an encounter went, I'd drop back to the saved game and play that part again, knowing what was coming and from where.
I didn't like the fact that the wireframe maps were removed from Descent 3, so that's where I stopped playing. I wonder how it plays on the newer computers?
