Hi, I was considering getting another anit-spyware program for my computer but Im not to sure which one. Right now I have ad-ware and IM looking at spydoctor and spybot S&D....what do you guys think is the best one and which one will run best with ad-ware, or does it even matter?

Thanks
-Rob

As long as you are not running the resident protection on more than one program, it doesn't matter... I typically use Spybot and Ad-Aware to run scans, but SpySweeper and some others are quite good too...

Make sure whatever you decide to use is NOT on this list:

Well I downloaded spy doctor and scanned. It found 10 things, come to find out I have to pay to get them removed. Is spybot S&D a completely free program?

Spybot is a free program. (although they welcome donations!)
I am always suspicious of any program that scans, and then tells you that to remove anything, you have to pay for the full version. Befor buying angthing, see the rogue antispyware lists at http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm.

K thanks.....spydoctor isnt on there but I am also suspicious of those programs. So would you say its alright for ad-ware and spybot S&D to be used together?

Thanks

*Edit*I talked to a friend who had spybot a while back and he was saying it slows down your computer and screws it up. Is this true?

I use both adaware and Spybot S&D and don't have any problems with them running together.

Ok, I downloaded spybot....it seems to be working fine. It found some windows registry anti-virus thing and I chose to fix it. I hope I didnt screw anything up. It was all in red.
