What I mean is this:

Say I have a long video clip or movie saved to my hardrive. Let's just say, for argument's sake, it's a downloaded episode of a TV show, possibly an avi or a mpeg. Now, say this entire clip is about 22 mintues long, but there is only a 10 or 20 second, or some amount of time, clip amid those 22 minutes that I want. I do not need the rest of the video or episode. What do I need, preferrably free, does not have to render excellent quality, to cut that time frame or clip out of the video and save it? I hope I didn't make that too confusing. Thanks guy!

Well, the Windows Movie Maker that comes with XP should be up to the task.

maybe i have another alternative, altough i think that solution that provided by other person is enough. well, you can decide it anyway. Use the VCD Cutter software, as it is quite good to cut and capture the frame as you desire, also it can split the captured frame into mp3 and picture....
