Hey guys. I am looking to buy some more RAM for an old IBM 300PL (233mmx Mhz, 4.2 G, 32M) System, but I don't know if anything other than "non-parity" RAM will work.
I have 168pin EDO RAM, and I have tried regular EDO RAM chips w/ smart chips, PC66, and PC100 chips. None have worked. What do you guys think? I wanted to get some opinions before I go buying up everyone's old RAM.

If I had to guess, I'd say that your MB is one that doesn't support parity ram. Check the manufacturer of your chipset.

Kingston Technology has an excellent site here (http://www.kingston.com/).

Look at the Ultimate Memory Guide, and then check the Memory Configurator.

They also have a special section devoted just to IBM systems. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Thanks for the info. and sites. I kinda thought that I would have to go by the exact specs. on this IBM 300PL. I grabbed one off of Ebay earlier today.

Thanks again,
