Hello Adam, http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
You can use "Any" Processor you want for a server.........
Is a Duron the best? The answer would most likely be No......
But there are alot worse things you could use http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
A Dual PIII or an XEON (among other things) would be a much better way to go (Also would depend on the OS and type of Server)
If "funds" provide you a Duron.........then Duron it is heh
Hope this helps! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

AMD makes very good processors and the only difference between the "full blown" Athalon and the Duron is in the amount of "on-board" cache. If you intend to run a network of less than 4 computers I would say it will work just fine (@ 900 mhz). If you are running more than that, I would suggest dropping down to a slower speed AMD......like a 700 Athalon at about the same price. Be sure to put at least 128 MB Ram on the server regardless.
