Hi all,

I have just purchased a linksys wireless access point, I have a PC and a laptop, these are currently connected using a cable to share the internet, but have decided to use a wireless product. the laptop is using a linksys wireless G notebook adapter, and the PC is running straight off the NTL modem. I used an Ethernet cable to link it to the access point, all the lights come up how they should on the front of the access point. (power and link)

The problem is i keep getting the dreaded limited or no connectivity sign on the laptop! I have used the installation CD on the PC to configure the access point and it says that went fine, i then use the laptop to find the wireless networ, which it does with no pobs (Full signal) i click connect but it doesn't want to no, it says it has limited connection, but it has none at all from the laptop?

I have tried everything, can anyone please help! Can someone please CONFIRM that i don't need a seperate router? This is a wireless access point..

thanks

Welcome tohttp://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif Forums!

Someone here might have the answer for you, but I am going to suggest that you call Linksys Tech-support to assist you. I also recently purchased Linksys and found their Tech-support to be very helpful in resolving my problem.

I would also suggest that you make sure that you write down all the steps they have you go through so that in the event you need to repeat you will be able to do so yourself. Since this is a recent purchase you have free access to their services...

Me thinks that Whyzman is giving you wise advice. You would need to post the router brand and model you are presently using. As well as the IP address of the PC and the access point from.

From what little you have posted, the Laptop is connection to the access point but the access point and the router are not speaking to each other.

All tech-support I've encountered from Linksys has been from folks located in India...but all have spoken very good English... And, my time in the queue was seconds...

How do you connect two PC's to the internet now? I am confused. :(
