3 Days ago, the power went off, and the keyboard stopped working since then. I bought a new keyboard thinking this would fix my problem but this new keyboard is not working neither.
I tried re-installing windows xp but I can't type the product key. I cant check anything in my bios, and im completely hopeless.
Anybody has any ideas about what's going on and how to fix it.
Thanks in advance.

Im on my laptop by the way :)

What sort of keyboard. PS/2 or USB or ... ???

Ensure everthing relevant is enabled in the BIOS and if PS/2 try USB and if USB ... you know the drill.

Hey Paul, thank you for replying.
I'm using Micro Innovations Wireless keyboard and Optical mouse thru a USB port.
I have installed all the required software drivers and it still does not work.
I don't know how to get to the bios of my computer since the keyboard does not work, I ont know what key to press to get there. Is there anyway I can go to the BIOS without using a keyboard?

It's weird that after the power going off, the keyboard does not work but the keyboard has stopped working.
Hope you can help me solve this.

You will need a non-wireless keyboard in order to solve this. It appears the driver was corrupted by the power surge.

I have decided to retore the whole system. Could anyone recommend a program so that would allow me to create floppy disks and when i restart with the disks in, it will delete everything on the hard drive.

Unless you get a working keyboard, whats the point..... Solve the problem first. Why is the keyboard not working?

Always good to have a cheap PS/2 keyboard around for such situations. PS/2 will almost always work, and if it doesn't there is a major problem. Go out and buy a cheap PS/2 keyboard, fix the driver problem, do a system restore, or whatever you like. You won't be able to get anywhere without a working keyboard though.
