View Full Version : re: purchase of web domain
I have just been listening to LBC (gadget detective) and on the radio station the presenter has said to the listeners you can register a domain for as cheap as £18.00 for 2 years. I have searched on various search engines putting in "purchase cheap web domain" but with no luck.
I want to register sadekalam.com for 2 years but I am finding that the prices are much higher. Any suggestion. Also once I register a web domain how do I know how much web space I am getting?

Sadek, if you searched "web domain" in the UK only and not worldwide (the whole web) you would have come up with loads!!! Yes you can get a domain name for as little as £22.33 (£19 without the VAT) but it would have to be a .co.uk as a .com will cost you more, £34.08 to be precise. All these prices include VAT. Go to http://www.reg-domains.co.uk Or you can have a look at this site http://www.webshowroom.co.uk/, this is a friend of mine and he is very good and has been known to be cheap. As regards to how much web space you get, well nothing in life is for free!!! You are only buying the name for two years with nominet registration not space on a server, you name will be held on the server. To make it cheaper what you can do is use your current ISP and have the company you bought your domain name from point the front page at your ISP web pages. If you purchase web space form the vendor along with multiple email you are going to put the price into the £100+ bracket and I am sure you dont want to do that.. Good luck...
