Just wondering if anyone has an answer to this error code. I have checked all my settings and everything looks ok. I have searched all over the internet and it seems that there are a lot of people with this problem. Any help would be most appreciated. (uisng XP, Vision Tek Xtasy 9200 se graphics adapter, DSL)
Thanks!

C00D11B3: Encountered a network error
Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the Player encountered a network error. You might encounter this error message for one of the following reasons:

The server is not available (for example, the server is busy or not online). Try again later.
You are not connected to the local area network (LAN) or to the Internet. Connect to the network or Internet, and then try again.
The proxy server settings for the Player are not configured properly. Verify that your proxy settings are correct, and then try again.
To verify your proxy server settings
On the Tools menu, click Options, click the Network tab, and then verify your settings in the Streaming proxy settings area.
Notes

If you do not know what your proxy server settings should be, on the Network tab, select a protocol, click Configure, and then select Autodetect proxy settings or Use proxy settings of the Web browser (available for HTTP protocol only).
If you are connected to the Internet through a dial-up connection, you might not be able to choose the proxy server. For more information, consult your Internet service provider (ISP) or network administrator.

Does that error happen every time you use WMP or just at a specific site/file?

Hey MJC!!! Thank you for responding.
Does that error happen every time you use WMP or just at a specific site/file?
You know I haven't really kept track of when it happens, I just know that sometimes when I go to view a video or to hear a music clip, windows media starts and then I get that error message. It seems like it happens all the time. I try to play the file in Real Player but the clips do not give you an option on which software you want to open with. Do you think it is a particular type of file or an issue with the actual site? Now some sites when I click on the audio file, opens another window and displays a player and my Windows Media doesn't open and I can hear the clip. Does this help?

Sometimes it is the site...

You should also check your firewall settings and make sure that WMP is not being blocked from incoming data.

I have disabled the XP firewall and am using ZA and have no problems there. I have seen postings from others all over the web that have this problem and it seems related to vs10 so I don't know if that is the issue or not but no one seemed to have anyone give any sort of answer. I guess there isn't a way to uninstall it either so that is not an option. It is just frustrating when I am trying to listen either to a music clip or see a streaming vid.

Does this apply?
Or does it help take you closer to understanding the nature of the problem?

When streaming from a Microsoft Windows Media Services 9 Series server, clients with versions earlier than version 9 can play back only the lowest bit rate video and audio of an MBR file (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/814676/en-us)

Is this a streaming problem?
Is it possible to download the file to your PC to experiment with methods of playing it?
