I've got a Linksys router hooked up to my regular home computer and I have 2 laptops which connect to the internet fine, through the router, wirelessly. I can't seem to print from these laptops (the printer a Lexmark Z22 is connected to the regular computer, not the laptops). Try as I might using the Windows network setups, I can't seem to get the laptops to find the printer. Any suggestions? Do I need some additional hardware for the printer? (BTW, Linksys says it is a Windows issue). Thanks in advance.

How is the printer connected to the PC? USB? Ethernet?

Welcome tohttp://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif Forums!

To answer your hardware question: Linksys makes a wireless Print Server which allows you to have the printer running solo (no need to have it plugged directly into a computer). With this setup, you don't need to have any computers running except for the one sending the data to the printer...

First of all is the printer shareable. By that I mean does it allow for conenctions beyond USB. Many printers do not, especially inexpensive ones. The manufacturers would rather make drivers that bloat up the system and tell you are running out of ink or talk to you with messages like printing started and printing complete.

If the print can be shared, did you share it? Do all PC's have the same workgroup name?
