I currently have 32MB RAM. I would like to upgrade it to 96MB RAM. When I install the new 64MB memory module (SIMM ECC) in the second slot, the BIOS does not read the memory to be 96MB RAM. The memory module is firmly seated into the slot. As an alternative, I removed the existing 32MB RAM and placed the 64MB in the slot for the 32MB. The computer still does not recognize the new memory module. When I turn on the computer with this configuration, the monitor displays "NO SIGNAL". Does this mean that the memory module is not compatible? For your information, there are only two slots.

More system specs would be helpful.

There is a possiblilty that the memory you are trying to install exceeds the capabilities of the motherboard, or it is of the wrong type. If you mother board can support only a certain amoount or memory then installing anything over that amount will not be recognized or it could not be recognized at all.

Is your monitor cable firmly connected to the video card, using the screws?

If it's loose, that's one reason for the 'NO SIGNAL' message.
A bent pin can also cause this error to occur.

What is the chipset and CPU? You may be limited to 64MB.

Are you sure your mobo supports ecc ram? Alot of mobos do not, that could be your problem...
