Spilled some wine in my laptop and fried it. Got lots of information I need on my harddrive. Vaio site says the harddrive isn't removeable or upgradable, but I took it apart and it popped out just fine. If I get another PCG-F180, can I just swap out the harddrives and be back in business?
Is there another way to access that information without buying that laptop? Can that harddrive somehow hook into my desktop?
Thanks.

You just need an adapter. eg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16812203012
A couple of good questions....
First, there is a difference between removable and replaceable...at least in a laptop.
Second, it could be that there is a BIOS induced size limit, so you may not be able to go to a bigger drive...or there could be some sort of code that ties that drive to that machine/OS combiniation.
With those two items in mind, you should be able to replace the drive with the same size/model, but may lose the ability to restore the OS and need to use a retail version.
As to being able to put a laptop drive into a desktop...yes there are various adapters made.
