Linksys Router Model Number WRT54GS ver 2.1

I have a linksys router connected to my main pc which is connected properly...

I have a linksys wireless USB adapter on my 2nd pc...

I connect to the internet on my 2nd pc this way:
I press the ses (secure easy setup) orange button until it flashes, then i connect through the linksys dialog on my 2nd pc it finds the pc with the router and says successful, and gives me a new passphrase which is mixed with numbers and characters (pretty long)...

I then click and highlight that connection on my 2nd pc and enter in the passphrase and i connect perfectly fine with no interruptions...

"heres the problem"

as soon as the main pc with the router is turned on, I lose connection instantly on my 2nd pc...

i can then reconnect ONLY by doing the process above with the ses and passphrase stuff (and everytime i do this i get a new passphrase and the ssid is changed to something like linksys_SES_48425)...i can then use the internet on both pcs with no problem

but as soon as the main pc is turned off and then turned back on later...i lose internet connection on my 2nd pc instantly all over again

can someone help me with this problem?

I appreciate it, thanks for your time

sounds like a configuration problem of sorts.

My first question is why you would not connect both computers to the router, which should have NAT enabled to allow connection sharing?

or do you mean that the first PC is connected to the router via Cat 5 cable and the second PC is connected to the router via its wireless usb adapter?

Have you tried the on-line Linksys troubleshooter?

I would suggest calling Linksys Tech-support for assistance. They have been able to help me successfully and have done so quite efficiently...
