Hehe, I love being in Canada. But really, are they really gonna be able to make a difference? As far as I can tell, most of teh major publishers are Americain owned. And if teh artist signed a contract giving the rights of the music to the publisher, they may not be able to do anything at all.

True, on the signing point...which I believe is going to be the next really big moaning point for the "Industry". It is getting to the point where the artist can get as much or more exposure on their own without signing with any of those major labels...Oh NO! The HORROR!!!....

Well if enough popular bands get together and threaten to stop letting the publisher distro their music, then they (the publishers) may take notice.
