Hey all...

Anyone out there got the Hercules 3D Prophet 4500 graphic board yet??? How do ya like it? The reviews I've read are mostly very positive...as always, I like to hear from us "little geeks". I guess there is a version with a TV out coming out in June...Thanks for replies!

Hello bonesdad,

Noticed nobody responded so I fiugred Id just throw in a few cents worth..
I dont have, nor do I personally know anyone with the herc, but heres what I think from what Ive read....(maybe will help you deside)

The price on the 4500 seems to be dropping a bit so it looks like a great deal....

Some of the benefits of the card are going to be its abilities at higher resolutions, where it seems to surpass alot of other cards......
Its also internally locked in 32bit and in alot of cases it should probably look better in 16bit then most other cards, but other cards will catch it in speed when they are side by side in 16bit.

From all Ive read Id expect it to actually perform (when I had it home in my machine) "about" the same as the GeForce GTS 64mb, but the herc seems to be alot cheaper at this point, and as I said before "I think" at higher resolutions it will beat out the GTS...........

Personally Id stick with the GTS, but thats just because Im hard headed stuborn and stuck in my ways when it comes to some hardware. I have a GeForce2 MX which I love, and I tend to stick with what I know over what I suspect........(but the herc would most likely destroy my MX heh)

For the price............If you think you might wanna get it, it's probably a great choice..........
