View Full Version : sound card problem
hi ppl.
ok the problem with my home PC is that the sound only plays from the left speakers. I dont know what went wrong but when i tried to listen to the music from the PC or when i capture movies from the TV Capture card the out-put is only from the left speakers..
Is it a problem with my sound card?
Thanks
Right click on the the speaker icon in the system tray (icons by the clock), select Open Voleum Controls and make sure that the balance slider is not all the way to the left.
If it is centered, then there is a good chance it is your speakers, not your sound card. Find another set to check.
I checked the balance and all are centred..
See if i play music files that are on my PC the output comes out from the left speakers or left headphones only.
The other scenario is after i capture video from my TV Capture Card onto my PC, then i burn that file i captured onto a cd as VCD or DVD, play that cd or DVD on a DVD player i hear sound only from the left speakers of my television.
I dont really think it is a problem of the speakers it is something else which i haven't figured out.
Can someone else guess?
Check the balance on EVERYTHING...including recording devices...

try connecting your speaker to a cd player and check if the there are sounds on the right speaker. If there's no sound on the right speaker, then your speaker is bad

Connect the speakers' [stereo?] input jack to the [stereo] headphone output socket on your CD or DVD player [and play a CD]; that doesn't use your sound card or software adjustments.
If you normally can hear good stereo using headphones connected there, then you know the output is OK and the speaker output should be good.
