I need too know what the easiest and cheapest way too internet share 2 computers off a dsl modem.
have the modem and 2 network cards.
funds are really limited and directions too some good websites would be apprecited for instructions.
so far solutions have been router/gateway
network in a box
and something i think about having one computer with 2 nics and having winproxy or sygate.
Networking is my downfall so any help is appreciated

Which Windows version(s)? Same on both systems?

You need no hubs or gateways etc.
You need win98SE on the computer that has the internet.
A 10mbps Network card in each machine.
A piece of CAT 5 cable (data comms cable)
Two RJ45 plugs to terminate the cable
terminate all wires crossing 1 to 3, and 2 to 6, the rest are straight.
or buy a cross over cable.
The rest of the settings can all be done in windows.

So all you basically need extra than what you already have is a length of CAT 5 cable.

Just get yourself to Nics and A crossover cable
get one off ebay cheap
easiest way to net to pc's and cheapest ; )

You will need a router or 2nics in one pc and one in the other
You need a place to connect the DSL modem crossover cable

alright thanks guys
I am going to put 2 nics in one computer and 1 in the other with a regular rj45 from the modem into first computer then a crossover cable between the 2 computers then im going to use the software that came with win98.
