I am going to purchase a ge-force 2 for my PC and i have searched the net and found a cheap one for about 100 $ w/ tvout but it's made by NVIDIA, and another one by ASUS for 250$!!!!

Is there a difference... I am guessing the ASUS must be better!

Any replies muchly appreciated!

There are several models of G-force 2 on the market, all of them use the same chipset...nVidia's chips. One of the big differences in price is the amount of memeory on each card, also what "flavor" it is, the Ultra is going to be more expensive than the Pro, than the GTS 64MB, than the GTS 32MB...

So if you are comparing two exact two cards with the exact same specs from two different manufacturers then you are making a valid comparison...but if one is an Ultra (the $200 price range) and the other is a GTS 32MB then the comparison is not valid, there are many more features to the Ultra..

Oh, yeah, if that $100 one is an Ultra let me know who has it for that, I want several.... http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

The first one is on the lower end of the family the MX/400, the Asus is a "pro" model. Here (http://www.inno3d.com/benefits.html) is a listing of the different features of the various models...this is one company's series, the other manufacturers would be similar.

Hello geek,

Any of those cards "above" the 400 are very good cards.....

Stay away from the 200 and below........they are still good cards but not really worth the money

The best "Value" $ for $ is the GTS but it all depends on how much cash you have.......If you can afford the Ultra by all means get it http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

MX400 around $100
GTS $135
Pro $165
Then you jump almost $100 to get the ultra
Then another $100 to get a GeForce 3 <-Approx prices no need for any you guys to go to pricewatch and show me there is a GTS for $30 less then I just said..........

Some of the better mfg's are INNO3D and eVGA <- There are others, no need for any comments about that either lmao

They're all very good cards but better if you stay with the 400 or above, cant go wrong

Good Luck! with whatever card you buy............

Hey Aware,
Did you see the features link...Inno3d... http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif they also seem to be one of the better priced cards, all series. Thanks for clarifying me. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Geek,
Any way I probably should have the 400 was closer to the middle...yeah the 200 still is around.
