No, it wasn't. I seem to remember this was from Berkeley.
If the notebook was loaded with what the professor said it was, he would go to jail for security lapses or lose his supposed clearances.

Who the hell carries this kind of data on their laptop, If it was up to me such data would be in a pc covered by wire with 500v electricity.

He is most likely blowing smoke because he lost his laptop. It probably has a bunch of child porn on it and he will get fired if some one finds it and turns it in to the dean. I have to deal with ********s like him everyday at the university where I work.

Yeah, but you gotta admit: that was one stupid laptop thief. I would have taken better security measures if I had stolen that laptop. But then again, I wouldn't steal. ;) And I won't post my ideas here for other people to use when stealing laptops. So I guess it doesn't matter. :p

I actualy read some articles on this subject, and turns out that almost all that stuff that he said is not true. There was about 100,000 SS numbers on it.

Also someone sold it on ebay.

Well I couldn't see your link because I got one of these:

C00D11B3: Encountered a network error
Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the Player encountered a network error. You might encounter this error message for one of the following reasons:

The server is not available (for example, the server is busy or not online). Try again later.
You are not connected to the local area network (LAN) or to the Internet. Connect to the network or Internet, and then try again.
The proxy server settings for the Player are not configured properly. Verify that your proxy settings are correct, and then try again.
To verify your proxy server settings...

I have been having this problem a lot lately and I am still trying to figure it out.
