Need Help Locating A Program

Does anyone know where i could find a safe program for scanning ports?
Like your own or a friends etc.Its just i wouldnt trust anything i would find and i was wondering if anyone here knows of any safe ones.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated as always

Can i download and run that from my pc?And can i just type in an IP to scan?
Thats what i am looking for.I ran the shields up scan before.Its an online scan
