Have a look at this - Link (http://www1.linksys.com/support/troubleshoot/wireless/wireless_router_config/wireless_mac_filtering.html), hope it helps.

hm.. i follow the directions and put in the default ip address, and type in admin as password since thats what it says (i havent changed those settings yet) but it comes up with a 401 unauthorization page.

What router do you have?

I have the Linksys WRT54GS.

The default is "usually".. USERNAME= ADMIN + PASSWORD = PASSWORD.
If you typed the password as "admin" as password it will not work!!

As counter-intuitive as it is, my Linksys WRT54G actually had no username and "admin" as the password by default. Are you trying to connect through a cable or wireless? Wireless admin might be disabled from the factory.

Take alook here: Configuring a Linksys Router:

Look up your model number and it gives the default Username and password.
Seems to be a lot of variance even between models from the same manufacturer!

Fred,
That link is freezing my browser. I suggest using the documentation from the manufacturer itself for the defaults.

Sorry about that..still works ok on mine (I use Opera)..
Feel free to remove / disable it if it's a problem?? :D

It opens in Firefox but froze the PC after, then messed with all the previously read post indications. Opens and reads OK in Opera. No AV indications. I am concerned if it is something malicious.
Anyone with VMware or Linux, what is going on with that link?

Fred,
mjc checked it out and reported back: the link is clean but terrible HTML coding on the site is causing the issue.
I am leaving the link removed for now as non-working links will only frustrate our members and guests.
