According to my motherboard handbook, it says that my motherboard has 2 slots of DDR, the first is for DDR 400 and the second is for DDR 333, and the rest with slower speed. NOw actually I'm using a DDR 333 of RAM, I wonder if I buy 1 more RAM with DDR 400, will follow up the slower RAM speed since my chipset can support DDR 400? My motherboard is AS Rock 775MV800. Thanks.
According to the online manual for the AS Rock 775VM800, it will support up to 1 GB of DDR 3200(400 MHz) RAM if only one RAM module is installed, and up to 2 GB of either DDR 2700(333 MHz) RAM or DDR 2100(266 MHz) RAM if 2 RAM modules are installed.
So if you currently have 1 DDR 2700 module installed, and install a 2nd DDR 3200 module, then either the 3200 module will run at the 2700 module's slower speed, or the system may not boot up.

The DDR400 module should slow down to the DDR333 speed, but if it doesn't then you'll have to manually set the RAM speed in the BIOS. Sort of a pain, but it will work.
