I think my cpu is bad

When I booted up it said my cpu was unworkable or changed. Now I have nothing so I think the cpu is bad. I have a Abit KT7 Raid motherboard. It has a 462 socket. Does anyone have any suggestions for a new CPU? When I checked on the battery the Clip broke . Is that a big deal?? Thank you. I have about had it!
