Hello! this is my first thread here.
I have a problem with my Laptop. Its an HP Pavilion ze4100 and I have a full screen and bright but the only thing is that the screen has a really red tint to it. Instead of a black screen being black its red. I tried changing the LCD, LCD interter and the same - I connected and External monitor and its normal. I also tried the LCD on another laptop and it looks fine. So now im stuck and I don't want to get rid of it because of this prob I don't know what to do. Please help me thanx.

Hi, SonicBoom, and welcome to the PC Guide Discussion Forums!

If you could, it would help to see the specs of this laptop. Also, if possible, some pictures of the problem would give us a better idea of the problem.

Sounds to me like the LCD is fine (it works fine in another laptop). The problem must then lie with the video card; this is strange, since it works fine on an external monitor. Does this laptop use onboard intel graphics?

Good luck!

I would agree with azzey that the problem would seem to have something to do with the video card. The fact that the monitor works on another system would certainly appear to remove the monitor as the culprit.

I'm wondering if this might be of service:

HP site says it has ATI Mobility graphics.
Is that correct, SonicBoom?
