Does anyone have any experience with using ImageMate (http://www.sandisk.com/about/im_back.asp)?
Is it a reliable form of data storage? problems, successes, etc
Thanks!
EDIT: I hear I can use this just like a HDD or a ZIP Drive etc,(Anyone Know If I Can?) but uses Flash Memory for Media.........any info about Flash Memory would also be appreciated......Ive never used it

It will work like you said...but I've found it's not as fast as they try to make it seem...using both MMC and CF cards, I can say I'm not real impressed...
I'd have thought USB at 12mb/sec would have been faster, so I'm not sure where the bottleneck is...I'm hoping it's just the applications I'm using with the flash mem., I haven't used Image Mate, but I've used several other storage programs with flash memory and they're just not that fast...
Of course, there is the advantage of size (in case you're a spy) http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/cool.gif but the price of flash memory is still pretty high, relatively speaking...it is reliable though, I've never lost any data...

Basically need it for a Doctor that travels alot, and does presentations....
He needs something that will store 100mb or more, that will work on both his laptop (for editing files while on the road) and also his PC <-actually both are MAC.....ImageMate says it works with MAC....... and it "Has to be small!"........He's complained about everything else that he has tried.....in most cases its too big or heavy, or he has trouble using it.....(g\f's boss and Im trying to figure out what will make him happy so he'll quit bitching at her heh).....as long as its as fast as a floppy drive, should be fast enough. Size, reliability, and ease of use, are really the most important parts of the equation........that media pretty reliable goonz?
Also price is not really much of an issue in this case........
j\k <- He needs a little data crystal he can plug into his head, but I cant seem to find one hahaha

Well, with those requirements, I guess there's not much choice...I can't think of anything smaller and they make type 1 CF cards up to 192mb and type 2 CF microdrives up to 1gb...it should be faster than a floppy and for ease of use, they're as easy (or hard) as any other computer device...
Just as a side note, the microdrives are soooo slick...little hard drives the size of a matchbook...
I've never (shouldn't say that) had a failure or data loss problem with either the cards (CF or MMC) or microdrives, but I'm not really hard on them, as long as he keeps in mind what they are and is careful with them, I think they'll be just fine...

As long as the Image Mate acepts type 2 CF cards you'll be fine...
