Linksys is always a good choice. Not sure about the model though. Make sure it is 54Mbps or better. I think the one you have listed may only be 11Mbps.

What kind of problems are you having with the D-Link? I ask because I have the same router and have had problems with it at times. Once in a while the lights will go crazy and all computers will lose connection. I unplug/replug and it usually goes back to normal right away, but there where a few times it would not go back to normal for quite a while, or would lose connection several times in a row.

I am not for certain, but it seems like it had more problems on some of the warmer days we have had this spring...

I haven't had a problem for a while now but I will probably end up RMA'ing it sooner or later. One time it didn't want to come back on and I actually had my old Linksys out (wired only) ready to hook it back up and the D-Link started to work again. I was about ready to throw the D-Link against the wall for a minute. LOL :p

Besides this problem, I have been very happy with it. Speed and wireless connection is very good.

Well the router is way faster than any internet connection. Your ISP is 5Mbps and the routers wireless is 54Mbps. So even an 11Mbps router would be plenty fast enough for the internet. The 54Mbps comes into play when you are sharing files on your LAN.

I would look into what king if signal you are getting on your wireless machine. If it is low strength or a lot of signal noise it will slow things down on the wireless end. Look for possible sources of interference like 2.4GHz cordless phones and microwaves ovens around the router and the laptop. Try moving the router or laptop away from possible sources of interference to see if that helps. Even a close neighbor that has a wireless router can cause interference sometimes.

It's worth troubleshooting first to make sure it isn't something simple before you go out and buy another router.
