I use netfirms.com as my web hosting provider. They are not free, but they have very good packages and their telephone support has always been extremely helpful. They usually have a deal where if you sign of for a year of web hosting, that you get a domain name (or two) free of charge.

I use Netfirms as well and I am very happy with them. Not free but they have cheap (about $5 a month) basic plans that have all the goodies with it.
